Some forms of hair loss can, should or must not be countered with a hair transplant. Conversely, the success of a hair transplant can often be enhanced by supplementary measures. Depending on the type of hair loss, the treatment includes: advice on skin and hair care, a lifestyle recommendation on nutrition and supplementation, and instructions on how to reduce stress and manage problems or manage stress.
Nutrition in Hair Loss: Supporting Dietary Supplements
If found necessary after extensive consultation, dietary supplements are prescribed as part of nutritional counseling to prepare various remedies for hair problems.
The prescribed dietary supplements include basic supplements such as zinc, biotin, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, iron as well as trace elements, amino acids and antioxidants – e.g. Pantovigar N.
This compensates for proven deficiencies and could help avoiding temporary deficiencies, which can occur in an unbalanced diet.
Hormonal hair loss: supplement hormones, inject autologous plasma in the PRP procedure or HYPPP procedure
Women are prescribed hormones such as estradiol in case of hormonally influenced hair loss, whereas finasteride has been proved efficient for men. Gender-specific treatments directly efficient against hair loss on the scalp are Minoxidil (Regaine (R)), Aminexil and alfatradiol containing solutions such as Ell-Cranell (R) and Pantostin (R), and own recipes.
Non-surgical treatment options include modern injections of patients’ own plasma. It is obtained from our own blood plasma with (HYPPP) or without (PRP) platelets and injected directly into the areas affected by hair loss or introduced into the skin in combination with micro needling. In the ideal case, this will cause a stop or a slowdown of the hair loss and a strengthen the affected hair. We have been using this plasma therapy for several years in cooperation with the Medical Faculty of the Technical University of Munich.
